Ceremonial quality
The finest, vibrant green matcha powder made from hand-picked tea leaves of the first harvest. A balanced, umami-rich flavor profile with a mild sweetness.
Single Origin & Organic Quality
All tea leaves come from a clearly defined growing region in Miyazaki Prefecture. Certified organic, pure, and true to type.
Quality difference compared to cheaper matcha
Bright green color, hardly any bitterness and a full-bodied, balanced umami flavor.
First harvest – hand-picked (Tezumi)
Exclusively young, high-quality Tencha leaves from the first harvest (Ichibancha / First Flush), carefully harvested by hand.
Traditional stone milling
Gently ground on granite stone mills (approx. 120 mesh). The slow grinding process – around one hour for 30 g of matcha – ensures a particularly fine texture.
Elaborate shading
Two-stage shading (approx. 85–100%) for 20–30 days before harvest. This traditional method shapes the color, taste, and typical matcha profile.
Origin with clarity and transparency
Our matcha comes from the Japanese prefecture of Miyazaki and is produced by a renowned, award-winning tea farmer with whom we work directly. This close relationship ensures clear, traceable origin and transparency regarding cultivation, harvesting, and processing.
By sourcing directly, we consciously avoid intermediaries. Every batch is traceable, certified organic, and tested both at the producer's site and additionally in Germany by an independent laboratory.
For us, quality means not only taste, but also trust – in the producer, the craftsmanship and an origin that we communicate openly.
Freshly harvested organic matcha from Miyazaki
After harvesting, the tencha is traditionally ground on granite stone mills in Japan and packaged in light-protected containers. This preserves the characteristic aroma and ensures that the matcha reaches you in its original quality.

PIĒRU is a single-origin matcha from the Japanese prefecture of Miyazaki. All tea leaves come from a clearly defined growing region and are fully traceable.
Single origin means that the matcha is not blended from different regions or harvests. Its origin, cultivation, and processing are clearly traceable and unadulterated.
The first harvest in spring (First Flush) yields particularly young and delicate tea leaves. They define the color, texture, and balanced umami profile of PIĒRU.
After harvesting, the tea leaves are shaded, gently dried, and slowly ground on traditional granite stone mills. This processing ensures the fine consistency and clear aroma profile.
PiĒru has a mild flavor, characterized by a delicate sweetness and a balanced umami taste. When prepared correctly, it does not develop a dominant bitterness.
PiĒru is suitable for both usucha and koicha. For usucha, approximately 1–2 g of matcha are whisked with water at 70–80 °C. For koicha, more matcha is used with less water.
