What is barley grass?

Barley grass is the young leaf of the barley plant (Hordeum vulgare). For our organic barley grass juice powder, we use only young plant material from certified organic farming. Barley grass is characterized by its fine texture and mild, green flavor and is one of the classic green herbs.

Extraction as organic juice powder

For our organic barley grass juice powder, the fresh plants are pressed immediately after harvesting. Only the pure plant juice is used, which is then dried using a complex, gentle process. Insoluble plant fibers are removed during this process. This results in a concentrated, intensely green organic juice powder with a fine texture and good solubility.

From harvest to finished juice powder, less than 45 minutes pass – a crucial factor for consistently high quality.

The organic barley grass grows in Utah on soils rich in minerals, shaped over millions of years by marine deposits and volcanic activity. Organic juice powder vs. plant powder

Plant powder is made by drying and grinding the entire plant, including insoluble plant fibers.

For organic juice powder, the plant is pressed and only the plant juice is processed further. Insoluble plant fibers are removed.

Compared to plant powder, this method requires significantly more fresh grass, as only the juice is used. The result is a fine, concentrated organic juice powder that mixes easily into liquids and is clearly distinguishable from ground plant powder.
